With models such as the Carrera, Cayenne and the 911 already on their books, the designers and engineers at Porsche were given the task of delivering a new and improved vehicle that would be worthy of addition to their portfolio. Step up the Panamera – Porsche’s latest car that is, like with the rest of the bunch, taking the market by storm. Available in five different variations; the Panamera (standard), Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S and the Panamera Turbo (my personal favourite of course!), this is a new vehicle that looks like it will give the used Porsche 911 a run for its money.

Recently introduced to the market, the Peugeot RCZ sees to be a new type of vehicle for Peugeot and one that is definitely sending them in a new direction. The exterior design is what makes the car stand out from the rest and the recent TV and cinema marketing campaigns used to promote the RCZ have been quite extraordinary. Sometimes advertisements just click and get the message across extremely well, and this is one of those occasions. The style of the RCZ totally eclipses that of the older used Peugeot models that fans have been so used to seeing.

We have a twenty-first century. Technological advances have led to the world that today we have an amazing selection in each area. This is also in the automotive industry. For some drivers the used Lotus Esprit seems to have been around forever. With the first model introduced in 1976 and a successful restyle later on in 1987, the car has become part of the supercar scenery. The latest version was brought to the market at the beginning of 1996 and came equipped with a 3.5 litre eight-cylinder turbocharged engine. Its power plant was capable of delivering an astonishing horsepower of 349. The used Lotus Esprit can be recommended to those who want fast driving and value superb handling and are practically able to go without the stylish modern look of their machine. The cars’ interior does not probably offer much entertainment, but surely provides good traveling comfort and all controls are situated within the driver’s easy reach. The only thing which might be discouraging for fresh or unseasoned drivers is the view out. It does not help while making some parking manoeuvres and one may be surprised to see that another object was closer than it looked, so being more than careful may simply pay off. In honour of its 50th anniversary in 1995, Ferrari launched its special edition model, the Ferrari F50. Only 349 Ferrari F50’s were ever made and production ended in 1997. The small amount of cars produced reflects Ferraris view that demand for the Ferrari should always be just a little higher than supply (they had estimated that they’d be able to sell 350). The used Ferrari F50 is a two door, two seat convertible sports car equipped with a removable hardtop. The engine it uses was developed from the 3.5 L V12 used in the 1992 Ferrari F92A Formula One car.
Whilst it may not be such a great time money-wise, I am fortunate enough to have saved a small amount of money for whenever I decided to upgrade my car. Therefore, as things stand I am at an advantage when it comes to purchasing as the cost of new and used cars has decreased over the last few weeks. Ok, so the flip side to this is that I will not get as much money for my car when I part ex it but I’m sure there will be a solution found. I was thinking about waiting a while until the New Year to see just how things pan out with the UK economy. However, I am starting to get twitchy feet and think a trip down to the local Nissan or Toyota garage may be in order. The next decision that I must make is whether or not to get a new vehicle or a used one?

The local news are today reporting that there are even less low deposit mortgages available for potential buyers with a five percent initial deposit. The reason behind this demise is due to the current financial climate and the ever declining prices of property. Apparently there are only around sixty such mortgages available from UK lenders. This was based upon a report by MoneyFacts. As we know, there are no longer any mortgages on offer for those requiring anything above or beyond one hundred percent mortgages as these types were closed to buyers from the start of 2008. Therefore, inevitably, it was the 95% offers that would be next to be taken off the list of promotions. Because of this demise, it means that buyers are offered less options and therefore makes buying a new home extremely difficult. The reason is understandable though from the lenders point of view as the element of risk is just far too high. With the climate as it is – unless the banking situation improves drastically over the next few months, mortgages may become extremely hard to come by and virtually nonexistent for first time buyers who do not have a healthy amount for their deposit. Keep an eye on what is going on over in America as they are the ones who can help make things better for us over here. Time will tell, but worrying times may be ahead it seems. My god this is a depressing blog site isn’t it! Sorry guys – I just try to tell it as it is.
